Firstly, I found that Alice's necklace from "Alice in Wonderland" is being sold at Hot Topic. (Also some cute scissor barrettes...maybe based off the Mad Hatter?) Me wantee, but not until I'm done with Christmas shopping.

I did, however, get a pouch of Blood Energy Drink. Which will be drunk on Friday. Although I'm thinking I might not go to Chicago that day...not sure what I'll do in place of it.

Oh, I also hate this time of the year at work...noobs that keep asking YOU questions when you're already too busy with customers, and the usual assholes that don't realize that they're assholes. -sigh-

I am looking forward to Tuesday afternoon, when I can finally do some real quality chillin'. :/

And I wish someone was rubbing my feet. :(

Pickings were slim at Church this morning (no pun intended, Slim Pickings/Thanksgiving weekend, get it?). Many were still out of town, as were my Sunday School Teachers-Shane and Kristi. This was my first week as an official member of the Evatt Class. Which was interesting as it was actually flashback Sunday, Big Stephen stepped up to teach in their absence. So yes, it was back to my teacher from two classes ago which brought back fond memories. It was nice to do my greeter thing in Gym C this morning. One of those days where it it really felt good being there. Maybe it's that Christmas is around the corner, who knows?

It was made official that Brian will be moving on to Northside come Dec. 7th. His letter was read to the Church this morning. I didn't get a chance to talk to him as I had to hunt down an errant roll book and still failed to find it. Hopefully the teach has it and can get it to the office Monday morning. As we were leaving I bumped into Dr. Brown who took note of my Superman shirt.

Rule #1-To get noticed at Church, wear the "S."

The Big Man said "Superman!" I gave my stock response, "Well I try to be." :)
It was nice.

Dr. Brown mentioned depression in his sermon, which brings me to how my next appointment with Amy will be our last. She was certainly the therapist I made the most progress with. man, I will miss her. But Asheville awaits and new job opportunity as well. Wish I could make her stay, though. I hope the next one is half as good.

Ringway is now officially domesticated. She got on my lap and purred the other night. Having a kitten again is ten tons of fun.

So here's the gang so far in the first installment-

Newmar-Dorky, rides a unicycle, brings a special sausage for his GF Adrienne...although she isn't so so sure about being his GF.

Pete-The zen center of the chaos of Billingsley College.

Wang-Stoner supreme, is showing the new French exchange student around.

Lynne-BFFs with Marla, sometimes sticks her nose into others' business with Marla. Not too bright sometimes.

Cliff-Badass scam artist in guyliner. Of course, he's really bad with money, which is probably WHY he's a scam artist... A friend of Pete's, he poses as a French exchange student, unaware the real French student is here...and mistaken for a prostitute.

The others-

Foosball-Openly gay...though Adrienne doesn't pick up on it.

Marla-Lynne's BFF, always trying to stop the wrong thing from going on...with disastrous results.

Claire-Experiencing a very literal sort of drama with her BF Tony...as Lynne and Marla think Tony's cheating on her when he's really rehearsing for a play.

Booker-Has a brother who is trying to get him laid and hires the prostitute...but he'd rather be with the girl of dreams, Rachel.

So the story is that one of the girls (Jerri) receives a purse with stolen money...and becomes involved with a criminal. Though this is really more of a farce. :) Like if Neil Simon wrote lowbrow comedy. XD (I'm not counting the shitty "Heartbreak Kid" redo that he had nothing to do with.)

(Also noticed the fucking sweet "Battle Angel Alita" wall mural Wang has.)

Though right now I can't wait to see the introduction of Rusty Daugerdaus in the second installment. Oh Rusty, you'll never learn. :)

*"Don't Touch that Sausage Mrs. Niedermeyer!" is a fake German sitcom from the "Sprockets" sketch from SNL.

Let's see...

I am very glad I'm not alone in finding the current condition of "Entry Level" meaning you have to have credentials to be bullshit.

The auditions for the "Hansel and Gretel" play are on Feb. 1st and 2nd. Good, though I will have to see if I should ask for one day off as it seems that they have me working in the evenings on Mon. and Tues. for the moment.

I'm very glad I don't have to be at work until tomorrow evening. I do not want to be out there in the morning.

I've decided that next Friday will probably be the day I visit Chicago. If not, I'll try to figure out something, maybe moving up my monthly Woodfield visit, but that's not until I find my new work schedule next week. So really, I don't know.

Oh, and I now have the good channels available in my room. Now I can catch up with "Zeke and Luther" and watch stuff on the Encore channels. :)

BTW, Taylor Lautner is hosting SNL on the 12th. I hope it'll be more watchable than the Joseph Gordon Levitt letdown last week.

And now, another chapter in the continuing and lamentable saga of one Rusty Daugerdaus. This one is where the gang notices he bears more than a passing resemblance to Radu, a bishie vampire...although he'd rather be thinking about his hot internet girlfriend. And by 'thinking about', I mean 'wanking off to'.

-LSFW-

BTW, I work with a guy who resembles Richard Roxburgh...although I don't think anyone has ever mentioned it to him...

Today I saw "The Fantastic Mr. Fox". I looked up the story on Wiki, and the film is radically different. The animals act like humans, and there is a rivalry going between his son and nephew. The best surprise, however, is that Jarvis Cocker is in the film as Petey (A guy with a banjo) and sings in it, too. :) I really did like the film, and I wonder if if I should add more of Wes Anderson's work on my Netflix.

BTW, there is a reference to Disney's "Robin Hood" as Marian's song "Love" plays in the background when the family enjoys some time outside. :) (And also when he is listening to "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" on his radio in the beginning.)

In short, I recommend the film highly. :) So glad I saw it first instead of "Planet 51".

Well color me surprised...

You know how I said "Transylmania" thankfully didn't have the "National Lampoon" banner in front of it? It's actually the third installment of the "Dorm Daze" films. ZHUH?!

Okay, I admit it, I liked "Dude Where's My Car", and the GOOD "American Pie" films, and "Road Trip", and "Sorority Boys", and "The House Bunny" (Not to mention "The Hangover")...though now I'm pretty intrigued, though Rusty doesn't come in until the second installment (Think "The Love Boat" with Kato Kaelin as a special guest star) and Cliff, Wang, Pete (Smitty from "Mad Men") and Lynne have been around since the first installment.

But come on, even though I didn't know much about the previous films (As I totally tried to avoid them because I was raised on the adventures of the Griswold family and the brand just went downhill after it was left off of "Vegas Vacation"), I'm just glad a good parody of "Van Helsing" is out there.

-NSFW, covering bases here-

Part 1-A case of mistaken identity, the first time and a big sausage figure into this Christmas film. (Okay, not necessarily a Christmas film, but I can think of a few that just take place during Christmas...)

Part 2-The first appearance of Rusty, who was still striking out with the ladies, while the motley crew gets into more crazy predicaments onboard a cruise ship. (Like Pete and Wang with a monkey.) And he's pretty much nekkid in this trailer. -Pervy Candace Giggle-

And now a clip-
Rusty tries to pick up the celibate girls (Including Lynne) at an abstinence meeting and realizes that it's a lose/lose situation.

So yeah, I know what I'll be doing for the next week...

Although I still can't figure out what Imelda Staunton was doing in "National Lampoon's Black Balls"...

Hey kids, let's play Musical Therapists!

  • Nov. 24th, 2009 at 5:55 PM
Well today was to be the last day I would see my therapist, Amy. Well she had some surprises for me. Yes, she is still moving to Asheville, bummer there, but the lady she set me up with is going to have a baby and will taking 2 months maternity leave come January! As Amy does not want me to lose any momentum, she suggested I stay at the current office and work with a lady there who just recently returned. Looks like that is what I'll be doing. Met the new lady, Sarah, and she seems nice. Since this was a little much to take in, Amy wanted to squeeze in one last visit next Monday, so we can have a proper final session.

Guess it's my new found coping skills that helped me take it all in stride. I'll be staying at the same office, which is good. If Sarah doesn't work out, I can go elsewhere. It's just funny I seem to be going through therapists like clockwork.

Now if I can get Ringway to stop peeing on the beds, everything will be okay. She still can't seem to understand that the litter box can be used for that also.

A stray, semi feral kitten started to show up at the old homestead in recent days. Long hair, with a hint of Siamese (ticked fur and blue eyes), a spot on her nose. She's a real cutie. She would hiss if you picked her up, but would go limp and let you pet her if you did get a hold of her. She vanished for a few days, then showed back up on Friday night. What the heck. I made a grab for her, brought her in and decided to make her mine. We have looked all over the house and yard and found no sign of other kittens, so she is by herself. Who knows her story? But we have a kitten again. Had she vanished a second time, it might have been for good. She's too sweet to leave on the street, and we can take in another cat now that dear old Lucy (who was very old and immune deficient) has gone on the Heaven. I've named her "Ringway." We have a cage she can stay in as she gets adjusted to the house and us. And that is happening very quickly. She still hisses a bit, but loves to get petted, has come and played in my room for the past two nights, and yes, crapped on my bed. Didn't say it was all good, but it goes with the territory. Litter box training is definitely next. She's enjoyed exploring the house and is really coming along well. So fun to have a kitten again.

Okay, so "The Keep" fails to go DVD/Blu Ray, but "She Wolf of London-Love and Curses" is coming out. If you aren't familiar with it, welcome to the club. It was a one season wonder, syndicated series that played in literally only a handful of markets. Seriously, I'm thinking only Chicago, New York, LA, and Europe ever saw it. I guess we can expect a deluxe, limited edition box set of "Team Knightrider," before The Keep ever comes out. UGH.

And in honor of my last dialog challenge, which was the mega awesome "Yor-Hunter From The Future," I present Yor's manly theme song, the manliest theme song ever! Sing along!

"Yor's World, he's the man! Yor's World, he's the man! [Yor's World!]
Lost in the world of past, in the echo of ancient blast. [Yor's World!]
There is a man of future, a man of mystery. [Yor's World!]
No tribe to lead the way, in his search for a yesterday. [Yor's World!]
Misty illusions hiding, his famous destiny. [Yor's World!]

Yor, the touch of fire. Yor the proud and free desire.
He never sees the sun, he's always on the run, him and his days are gone.
They say he will go on, his search goes on and on.
Yor's World! He's forsaken the name! Yor's World! And the world was like fire!

He's gonna make all the wild things look tame tonight, in his fight!
Yor's World, he's the man! Yor's World, he's the man!

Yor's World! He's forsaken the name! Yor's World! And the world was like fire!
Yor's World! On the sun there's a soul(???)! Yor's World! And the world was like fire!
Yor's World! He's forsaken the name! Yor's World! And the world was like fire!"

YEAH! Now put that on DVD!

Rusty (Not Ryan, my bad) and his online girlfriend Draguta, who turns out to be a hunchback. Still can't get enough of that look on his face. XD And the way he faints when he finds out.

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it funny that "Il Pagliacci" is playing in the background? :P

Anyway, I think I might see "Pirate Radio" next...yay for free movie tickets. I hope Rhys Ifans doesn't get naked in it. -shudders-

I am very glad I have Thanksgiving off and will not be working early the next day. In fact, I'm not going out on that day until I have to. Psychos. The week after...I'm flipflopping on going to Chicago on either Wed. or Fri. that week. Guess we'll see.

I got back from "New Moon". I haven't read the entire book, but I was very happy with the adaptation.

And "Face Punch" should be made into a movie, dammit.

There were things I noticed, but one was the poster for the movie "Pontypool" in the lobby of the theater.

It's a Canadian zombie movie

And the product placement of Burger King. Which has a "Team Bella" gift card. Wait, "Team Bella"?

Finally, does Michael Sheen sing? Because after seeing him as Aro, I'm pretty convinced he should be playing Von Kvorlock.
